Membership is open and voluntary. If you are within the common bond and willing to save regularly, you can join.

Who can join

Taumba SACCO was founded by and for women entrepreneurs, and the co-operative's doors are open to everyone within the accepted common bond.

Members come from manufacturing, farming, services, fashion and trade. What they share is a commitment to save every month and to lend that pooled money to one another on fair terms.

You are free to withdraw your membership at any time, provided you have no outstanding obligations to the society.

What to have ready

Gather these before you start. You can upload photographs taken on your phone, as long as the text is readable.

  • National ID

    A clear photograph or scan of both sides.

  • Passport photograph

    A recent head-and-shoulders photograph.

  • Proof of residence

    A utility bill, lease or letter confirming where you live.

  • Signature

    Sign on white paper and photograph it.

  • Next of kin details

    Name, relationship and a phone number.

  • Income details

    What you earn or turn over in a typical month.

How joining works

Applications are reviewed within 14 working days. You will hear from us by email at every stage.

  1. Confirm you are eligible

    Check that you fall within the common bond and can commit to a monthly contribution.

  2. Complete the application form

    Personal details, what you do for a living, and your next of kin. About ten minutes.

  3. Submit your documents

    Upload your ID, photograph, proof of residence and signature.

  4. Pay your membership and share fee

    We confirm the amounts and how to pay once your application is approved.

  5. Start saving

    Your savings begin earning, and you become eligible to borrow.

Questions about joining

How do I become a member?

Apply online through this website, or collect a paper form from the office. You will need your national ID, a passport photograph, proof of where you live and your signature. Once your application is approved, you pay your joining fee and share capital and start saving.

Who can join Taumba SACCO?

The membership team reviews applications within 14 working days. You will hear from us by email either way, and we will tell you if anything is missing.

Can I leave the co-operative?

Yes. Membership is voluntary in both directions. You may withdraw at any time, provided you have no outstanding obligations to the society.
